SCHOOL CAMOGIE CHAMPIONS :D

Yesterday my school camogie team played in the Junior B Dublin Camogie Championship Final against Our Lady's Terenure, and I'm so happy to say WE WON!! :D It was a brilliant win!... 9-6 to 1-2! :P I am a very proud captain and extremely happy because a camogie trophy hasn't been won in the school for about 9/10 years and it's amazing for us to bring camogie success back to the school! :D

Fun in the Sun! :D

Yesterday class Banba organised a Santry Sports Day for the 1st years! We were asked by Mr. L to organise a sports afternoon to get more 1st years to go to Santry this year! We had to set up different events such as High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Putt, Discus, Javelin, Triple Jump, 600 metre, Sprints and Hurdles. For every event the first 6 girls got points for their class; 6th place got 1 point, 5th place got 2 points, 4th place got 3 points, 3rd place got 4 points, 2nd place got 5 points, 1st place got 6 points! Shanen and I had the High Jump, which I compete in at Santry. It went really well and most of the girls were quite good at jumping and their techniques were really good! :) Class Pearl were the overall winners of the day! We had music playing and everyone had a really good time in the sun!! :D

We so brave! :D

Hey :)
So last week all the girls in TY went on a trip to Braveforce in Meath! It's an assault course with loads of obstacles that we had to jump over like bales of hay and we had to run through deep streams and we were all covered in mud! The water and mud didn't stop us though cause everyone finished it. I came in seventh place out of our school which I think is kinda good :P We also had two teachers taking part in the course, Ms. O'C and Mr. L who were getting stuck in the muck as much as the girls in TY! :D It was so much fun and I'd love to do it again sometime but I would time myself to see how fast I could do it! :D

Finished work experience!

Hey :D
I haven't blogged in a while which I'm very sad about :( but I'm back :D A few weeks ago we were on our second week of work experience and it was also our last week of work experience! :( I was in HSE offices in Dr. Steevens Hospital in Dublin. It was a really good placement! I was situated in the Service Desk where people who work in the HSE around the country call or email in about computer problems they are having. I sat in with one of the collegues and I listened to the calls that came in. People rang in if they wanted to set up an email account or if they're computer had shut down and the workers in the Service Desk would instruct them how to fix their problem! I also logged some of the emails that came in, which meant that I filled out a form on the computer to show that this person had emailed in with a problem! At the end of the week I realised that I like computers and IT more than I thought! :D

I also had a week of work experience in the Garda Technical Bureau in the Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park. It was an amazing week! The first day we went to the Balistics section to look at all of the guns! We were shown lots of different guns like Tommy guns and guns from Afghanistan and they also had a gun that was a walking stick and it had a little trigger at the handle! It was really cool!! :D During the week we also went to the fingerprints derpartment where we were shown different ways that people try to change their fingerprints and we also got to take our own fingerprints! We also got to take pictures of fingerprints on guns when we were in the photograohy department! It sounds a bit scary but we saw pictures of an actual dead body from a crime scene late last year! It wasn't tht bad because there wasn't any blood but it was still a bit of a shock!! I would love to be apart of the Garda Síochána because I found it really interesting! :D
